Goodbyes and Packing!

Its been a while since I've written an update! I'm currently in the packing process. It's crazy trying to fit your life into a few bags and boxes. I've completely cleared out my desk, and laundry is on the schedule for tomorrow. I'm shipping my linens to the hotel, and possibly another box of stuff. I'm actually leaving my house on Thursday, spending a few days in West Chester to say goodbye to friends down there, and flying to Orlando, FL Tuesday morning. My flight gets in at 9:30am, and the lovely Hannah is going to pick me up! I believe Evan and Zach, and possibly Paul are meeting us for breakfast. It'll be the first group of us there, and I'm so excited!!! I feel like this was such a long process, and all of the sudden its happening! I still can't believe I'm going to be Walt Disney World Company Cast Member.

I was my brother's confirmation sponsor, and his mass was Sunday. My sister is leaving for grad school in the fall, and my other brother is joining the Army. We've all been home for a year, and now a lot of us are leaving again. We went to an Hibachi Bar restaurant for dinner. It was loads of fun, good food, and nice to have one last family outing before I (maybe permanently) move to Florida. I'll miss my family more than I can say, but I really think I've finally figured out what I want to do with my life. And I already have a strong core of friends just waiting to do this. I truly am one of the happiest people in the world right now. I haven't been happy for a while, and now I just feel so content :)

Yet Another Vlog...

Vlog #9 and Stuff!

I know I haven't actually written anything for a while. I'm really just waiting for May to get here! I have hotel reservations at the Sunpree across the street from Vista Way. I have my plane ticket, and roommates! Cait and I are living together and we've found Caroline, Casey, and Hannah! We're all pretty awesome, and I've been losing major sleep staying up on skype with them (and a few other waaaay cool people) to all hours of the night/morning. Example- I woke up yesterday at noon and haven't been to sleep since... but its totally worth it. 35 DAYS AND COUNTING!!

Official.

I've officially accepted my offer for the Disney College Program. The networking, the application process, the interview, and even the purple folder were all super exciting, but when you finally choose your dates and hit accept- it punches you in the face. You're working at Disney. Fucking Disney. The happiest place on Earth, where dreams come true.

My dreams are about to come true on May 20th. My move-in day. From May 20th to January 2nd I will eat, sleep, breathe, and live Disney- and that will get me through these next few months that I'm sure will be rough and stressful to say the least.

I'm going to make magic. No one can take that from me. Thank you, Disney.

Accepting and Disney Couture

The website was down the first time I tried to accept my offer. Now when I log in, it says my season is Fall 2008, not Fall Advantage 2009. I'm not worried, I just have to call tomorrow and talk to my recruiter/tech support.
Danielle has just introduced me to Disney Couture. It is so beautiful, and I cannot wait to start collecting!

In other news, my heart goes out to everyone that's been rejected. I know that I would have been miserable for months if I wasn't accepted. Everyday I realize that this program is a privilege, and I will not take advantage of it. I think it is just awesome that Disney wants me in their cast, and I hope everyone will keep trying! I can't wait for all my new cyber friends to be my fellow cast members and real life friends!! This is exactly the amazing thing I've been waiting for in my life that is going to change it. Here we go!!

Yesterday was the day!! PURPLE FOLDER DAY!! Fall Advantage Attractions 2009! I AM SO EXCITED!! DISNEY HERE I COME!!!

Vlog 3!!

So I get up today and check the mail. I see a large white envelope sticking out of the mail box, and for one glorious second I think I have my folder- jk- it was something for my dad. Then I glance down as and see the Disney logo and think "ohno" in my head, then I read Movie Club. That means nothing today, and tomorrow is four weeks.

Nada.

So no folder today. I know it's not even four weeks yet (soon!), but I'm still worried. However premature, I feel like anxious. I've emailed my recruiter twice to confirm they received my role checklist, and I got two generic answers. No confirmation!
I'm wondering if letters have anything to do with who your recruiter is. Maybe one was on their A-Game? I didn't hear of anyone getting a letter today, so maybe a few people got lucky? Very lucky? Who knows- I'm still jealous!
I'm just waiting for March to come along and then I get an email that they don't have all my paper work :(

Vlogs 1&2!

Hurry Up and Wait

So, no mail today. However, I'm hoping tomorrow brings good news- but with my luck I'll probably hear closer to the week six mark :( It will be three weeks and four days tomorrow. Ugh. I suppose the longer I wait now, the less I wait to go down (hopefully!). High School Musical 3 comes out tomorrow too!! I'm so very excited. My sister and I are going to WalMart at midnight to buy it!

Still Waiting...

So I'm hoping to hear this week, however I think it may be a little longer. I emailed my recruiter to see if they had my role checklist and it seems they got a large amount at one time and they're still sorting through them. So, this means I don't know if they have everything they need- let alone sending out (hopefully) my folder. So- I'm holding my breath, but it may be later than I had hoped!

Now We Wait.

Had my interview on Friday morning. I think I did alright. I felt better the last time I interviewed. I checked Attractions, Character Attendant, PhotoPass, Recreation, and Merchandise. I really want Attractions. Really. I feel like I had good answers, it just have taken me too long to get them out. Too much babble maybe. Hopefully I'm okay!
They seemed more concerned about my tattoos this time. I have two small tattoos. One on the back of my neck and one on my ankle. I have absolutely no problem covering them, and I tried to get that across, but my interviewer said something like, "I have to think where we could put you..."
They told me that I should know by the end of February, that's a long time! And I feel uneasy after my interview, so this is going to be a hard wait...

Application!

I've officially applied! The applications came up Tuesday evening, and I completed mine a few hours after they were posted. I scheduled my interview Wednesday morning for Friday at 11:30am with Elizabeth! That's tomorrow! I forget how short the application process is. Just takes a few minutes, and then the waiting starts again.
As for the roles I checked- the one I really want is Attractions. I want to work an attraction in Magic Kingdom. I don't care which one. Haunted Mansion would be really cool, or one of the mountains. I hear Space Mountain will be closed from April until at least the end of the year. Boo!
I've found my roommate, and parents are driving me down to move in. It will be a very long trip! I have a cousin getting married in Alabama May 16th, so it would be great if I could move in the Monday after that. Fingers crossed! We want to live in Patterson. It being newer is a big reason.
I am so excited/relieved/happy/nervous/anxious that this process has finally started again. Here we go!!

I'm hoping tomorrow will be the day the applications go up. The wait is killing me... Let's get this ball rolling!

New Year!

Its officially 2009, and although Penn State is crashing and burning at the Rose Bowl, I am pumped that the applications will be up soon. I had a wonderful, family filled Christmas and New Year. It was a great time! I got a few books about Walt Disney that I'm looking forward to reading. My sister got this sweet Disney Villain Monopoly, and you can choose what villains go on which properties, and you can change them. They're like the window sticky things. Its loads of fun, even if I usually lose...
I have found a roommate! We met on facebook, and I think we're going to have tons of crazy times. I'm a little ahead of myself, since neither of us has even applied yet, but its still exciting.
