My Disney History

This particular entry is going to be about my Disney history. My visits, my CP experiences thus far, and what I want out of the CP (should I be accepted).
Since I can remember, I've begged my parents to take us to Disney World. The response was always, next summer, next summer. I used to get really angry when I was a kid, but now I realize that five young kids in WDW is not a safe or affordable thing. It would just have to wait.
I graduated high school, my oldest sister got her undergraduate degree, and my Dad got his masters in 2006, and as a gift from a close family friend, they gave us a week at their time share. My sister and I got to pick where we wanted to go. I immediately said Florida. She never really cared to go to Disney, but I talked her into it, and that's where the rest of the family wanted to go, so it was final. Orange Lake Resort in Orlando, from December 27, 2007- January 3, 2008.
I was 20 years old, and I knew that WDW was going to be amazing, and it was definitely a dream come true, but I didn't think it was going to be magical. Well, it absolutely was. The first time I saw the castle, I was breathless. I never felt so free, and just completely happy. Nothing in the world mattered, it was total enjoyment. We went to every park, and spent New Year's Eve in Magic Kingdom. The fireworks were amazing. AMAZING.
So I've only been to WDW once, and it was almost a year ago, but I've been thinking about it ever since. Last February, I applied for the DCP. After a lot of waiting, and thinking that I wouldn't get in, I was accpeted to Costuming for Fall 2008. However after a lot of issues (some in my control, some not) I had to turn it down, which was horrible. When ever my life starts to suck... I think "I could be at Disney right now." Not fun.
Anyway, I'm now waiting for January to apply for Fall Advantage, and I'm really hoping to work Attractions in MK. That would be ideal, but I'll take anything and make to most of it!
My current plan is to do the CP in the Fall, finish school, do another CP, and then try to get a Professional Intership or go Full Time and work my way up in the Walt Disney Company. For now, I just have to get my foot in the door.

Just an Introduction

January is approaching, which means the Fall/ Fall Advantage 2009 applications go up, and once again I can start the Disney College Program process. I have a Disney dedicated LiveJournal already, but I feel I should start fresh, and find some new friends that are going through this experience with me. I still enjoy reading every blog I can find to learn as much as I can about this opportunity. I'm like a sponge! I'm going to start with an introduction, and in the coming days I'll blog about my Disney dream, and my Disney experiences.

My name is Justine. I'll be 21 in a little over a week. I live in Central Pennsylvania, and I'm a junior at Lock Haven University, a psychology major. My dream, which has turned into my career goal, is to work for the Walt Disney Company. It sounds a little vague, but for several years after high school, I had no direction, so it's pretty exciting for me! I don't really know exactly where in the company I would fit, but there are a million opportunities- the college program is just step one. Other than Disney, my life is colorguard. I've been marching with the Crossmen since 2005. I march winterguard, this season with Field of View, but previously with Bpex and in high school. I teach it as well, which I love almost as much as being infront of an audience myself. I love to perform, and share my passion with kids. I think that's the reason why Disney is so appealing to me, its one huge performance!

I'll make more sense when I blog about my Disney history! But for now, I'm going to relax and enjoy this holiday weekend. Have a magical day!
